It had been one rough as hell day for Vex. Beginning with Alea withdrawing from him this morning, then the trouble between Sevin and that pack.

Between worrying himself down to a nub over the both of them, he had also kept one eye on Jason. Thankfully, the human seemed pretty much business as usual. Sevin’s issue was ongoing and would be until something was permanently done to the alpha of that pack, but Alea took center stage.

His head full to bursting with new feelings he had no idea what to do with. He kept toggling back and forth between wanting a relationship with her and keeping her at arm’s length. His brain had turned into a rope that was being pulled from both ends.

He was thrilled to be unlocking the door to his apartment when Alea’s words hit him with a hard slap across the ass.

“So, we agreed you’re taking the bed tonight, or am I packing my shit and going home?”

“You are absolutely not going back to that house”—he stood a little straighter as if more height was going to make his point any clearer to her—“even if I have to tie you to the fucking bed.”

“Now you’re talking,” she beamed up at him. “I never pegged you for a kinky demon, but I'm down with whatever as long as it's with you.”

Scowling, he couldn't believe she had just gone there. And, the images her naughty words conjured had him ready to tear her clothes off.

“Fine.”

A naughtiness twinkled in her eyes as she continued to toy with him. “Are you agreeing that I take the recliner tonight or tying me to the bed? I would prefer the latter.”

Grumbling his way to the kitchen, he filled Kat’s bowl and set down fresh water. He could feel the fairy’s presence at his back.

What was he to do with this female? She kept up a constant pressure on his resolve.

His nightmare had returned, even in the few hours he'd managed to sleep last night, he’d relived the night of their banishment.

Even before he'd met Alea, his senses were all off, everything was heightened like he was being prepared for something. But what, he was uncertain. He only hoped it was for a return to Netherworld in the Realm of the Dead.

“Would it be so repulsive to have sex with me? I don't get you, demon. You'll do other things to me but not that. Why?”

Whirling around on her he wanted to scream not at her, but just in general. He was tired and punchy. Tired of waiting for what he truly wanted. Tired of wanting the female in front of him. Tired of the guilt he felt over dragging his friend with him to this place. Tired of watching Sevin get bullied. Tired of feeling like he was being pulled in a million different directions at once.

“I do want you, but I can't have you.”

“Why?”

“Because if I give myself to you, I will no longer be pure, fairy. I need to be untouched to go back to Netherworld.
